Through this free portal (app or website), you can remotely stay in direct contact with the BBrain Family of one or more users. You can send calendar events, messages, and photos, as well as start or receive calls.

A wonderful invention! We bought this clock for my mother as a calendar. Since the appointments are clearly displayed on her clock and she is reminded of them, it gives her structure. She does have a paper calendar, but you don’t check it constantly. And if you put too much in it, you quickly lose track. The fact that the past appointments are automatically removed (which you can set how long after) contributes to its clarity. For us, it’s ideal that we can manage the calendar remotely. It saves us multiple trips to add something to her calendar since calling her doesn’t work very well. The only downside I can think of: When the appointment is on the calendar (in the digital version of the clock), the remaining space could be better utilized by showing the day and part of the day in a larger font. Right now, it’s quite small.

My mother is starting to forget things, and this way, she has a reminder for when things need to be done, like taking her medication. Since I live quite far from my mother, it’s also really nice to take photos of the things happening in our lives. This way, she still feels involved in our life. The BBrain Family immediately announces when a message or photo is received, displaying it with a red bar at the top of the screen. Messages and photos remain on the clock until relatives remove them via the BBrain Portal app. For calendar events, relatives can set how long an appointment should remain on the screen (up to 10 hours) and when the user should be reminded (e.g., 15 minutes before the appointment). Tapping on the clock, calendar item, or message will make it speak aloud.
Passive Mode

- Activities: Appear with a red bar at the top of the screen. A photo can be sent to clarify the activity. Individual photos cannot be sent in passive mode. Relatives can decide how long the activity should be displayed on the screen, up to a maximum of 10 hours.
- One-way video calling: Relatives can call the clock user, but the clock user cannot call the relatives.
Tapping on the clock will speak the time aloud.
Is it possible to switch between interactive mode and passive mode (or vice versa)?
The BBrain Family adapts to the user’s needs, as you can switch between interactive mode and passive mode at any time. This can be done in the settings menu of the clock. Under ‘Clock Display,’ you can choose the desired mode.
When switching from interactive to passive mode, calendar appointments, messages, and photos will no longer be displayed. In passive mode, only activities will be shown.

Is a Wi-Fi/internet connection required for the BBrain Family?
An internet connection is required to use the functions (video calling, agenda, messages, photos, activities). Without an internet connection, you can only use the BBrain Family as a clock.
You can connect the BBrain Family to your WiFi network or via an Ethernet cable. It is not possible to use a SIM card.
Can the BBrain Family do without power?
BBrain Family clocks do not have a built-in battery. The power cable should remain plugged in.
